A community owned pub in the heart of North London provides vulnerable people with free lunches once a week.
The Antwerp Arms in Tottenham, affectionately known as ‘The Annie’, provides free community lunches every Tuesday afternoon for those most in need of a hot meal.
The pub, which became community owned in 2015, had its commercial arm taken over by Tottenham based Redemption Brewing Company in March this year.
Andy Moffat, Founder of Redemption Brewing Company, said: “It’s absolutely critical that it [the pub] is part of the community, and that’s where I think the success of the pub will come from as well.”
The community had united together to purchase the pub after its previous owners had sold it to property developers who intended to turn the pub into flats.
