HSBC Hayes temporarily closes for branch makeover

HSBC Bank has announced that its Hayes branch has temporarily closed and is set to reopen on Monday September 2.

The HSBC branch located on Station Road has ceased operation while a month of pre-planned renovation and internal building work is carried out.

To mitigate the impact of the closure, HSBC said local customers can access banking services at any nearby HSBC bank office with the closest counter service branch being 2.6 miles away in Southall.

The Local Director of HSBC UK Ramesh Aryal said: “We continue to invest in our branch network to make our customers’ experience banking with us a good one.

“We have been talking to customers about the temporary closure for the last month.”

To ensure that the financial needs of customers are met, Aryal assured that individuals with a HSBC account can continue their usual business with the bank at their nearest post office.

HSBC customers in Middlesex can redirect their financial activity to the designated locations: 3 Park Parade, 570 Uxbridge Road, and 137A Western Road.

Aryal said: “Day-to-day transactions, plus mobile and online banking is available 24/7 in addition to being able to call our contact centre.”

However, a report conducted by HSBC Hayes found that just 13 per cent of customers who use the branch also use the Post Office.

Customers may encounter issues with large financial deposits and withdrawals, as the same analytical report confirmed that only 31% of cheques at a value over £500 can be deposited at nearby HSBC Branches or Post Offices.

Local electrical engineering student, David Caleb, 20, said: “I wish further judgement had been made about this decision.

“If there is no truly useful reason for the closure, and it will not help the citizens, I can’t support it”.

Aryal said that HSBC will host Community Pop Up Events to offer on-hand support for customers at WHSmith, 6-8 Station Road, Hayes, UB3 4DA, throughout August.
