The cost of living crisis continues to affect the day to day lives of businesses, families and communities across London.
Shops on Crouch End Broadway, a vibrant and charismatic Haringey street, have seen their business impacted by increased prices of fuel, energy and food.
Figures from the Office for National Statistics showed that the UK economy shrank by 0.3% in April after a 0.1% reduction in March.
Lewis Dunns, managing director of Dunns Bakery, said: “It’s certainly been a very difficult couple of years.
“Seeing as we seem to have come out of the end of the Covid crisis, we’ve now got a new crisis.”
The UK economy continues to suffer from the conflict in Ukraine and the ongoing issues faced post-pandemic.
It remains to be seen how the cost of living crisis will affect business on the Broadway in the future, and how costs will impact the community.
