Kentish Town singer Mae Muller is off to Liverpool to represent the UK at the Eurovision song contest in May.
Despite reaching this European and global audience, the 25-year-old was raised in north west London.
Muller attended the ‘Fine Arts Academy’ in Belsize Park, an independent school specialising in Arts and Humanities.
The ‘Fine Arts Academy’ boasts a list of famous former pupils including: Orlando Bloom, Helena Bonham Carter, and Brooklyn Beckham.
Principal Candida Cave said: “Mae is an intelligent, talented young woman who was a delight to have at Fine Arts College.
“We look forward to seeing her light up the stage at Eurovision. We’ll all be rooting for her on the night.”
Muller also found her start in Kentish Town while working at ‘The Abbey Tavern’ pub, where she started to perform publicly.
After creating and uploading music to soundcloud, Muller was noticed and signed by her current manager.
Since then Muller has released three EP’s, a studio album, and supported Little Mix on their 2019 European tour.
Muller also appeared in Mika’s ‘Grace Kelly’ music video in 2007, when she was a child.
The singer and songwriter will be performing her entry ‘I Wrote A Song’, which was released on 3 March.
‘I Wrote A Song’ is about a cheating ex-boyfriend and this song as a response, rather then seeking revenge.
Eurovision will be held in Liverpool this year, after the UK’s Sam Ryder came second in the 2022 competition.
Ukraine’s ‘Kalush Orchestra’ came first however, with the ongoing invasion and safety concerns in Ukraine, it was decided the UK would host this year’s competition.
The Eurovision semi finals will begin on 9 May, with the grand final scheduled for 13 May at 9pm.
