An arts and education centre in Highgate hosted a month-long series of events to celebrate Nowrouz in March.
Also known as Persian New Year, Nowrouz is a 13-day celebration that takes place at the end of March and has been celebrated for over 3,000 years in countries all over the world.
Iranian artist Mehrdad Aref-Adib organised an exhibition with other artists, a bazaar, poetry and jazz nights, and a haft-sin collection trail at Lauderdale House.
The Iranian community in London is proud and constantly growing, as immigrants seeking political asylum have come to the UK since the 1980s.
With many celebrations happening around London annually, none have highlighted Iranian culture and history quite like Lauderdale House’s month-long festivities.
